Das sieht wie ein Problem mit dem XServer aus. In
/etc/X11/XF86config-4
muss vermutlich etwas konfiguriert werden.

Ist unten

Section "DRI"
    Mode        0666
EndSection


enthalten? Wenn nicht, reinschreiben und XServer neu starten.
Dann sollte es gehen. Es hat sehr wahrscheinlich nichts mit
NVIZ direkt zu tun.
