Als Ausgangsbasis für die Arbeiten dient die Metadatenerfassungskomponente smartEditor von con terra, die ab sofort als Open Source Software bereit gestellt wird.<o:p></o:p></span></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Trebuchet MS","sans-serif";color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Trebuchet MS","sans-serif";color:black'>Metadaten sind von entscheidender Bedeutung für den Zugang zu Geodaten und Geodatendiensten. So fordert die europäische Rahmenrichtlinie INSPIRE die Bereitstellung von Metadaten als wesentlichen Baustein für den Aufbau der Geodateninfrastruktur der Europäischen Gemeinschaft. <br>Die Softwarekomponente smartEditor des sdi.suite terraCatalog dient der Erfassung von Metadaten. Sie unterstützt unter anderem auch die Vorgaben von INSPIRE und wird bereits von vielen Anwendern auf allen Verwaltungsebenen in Deutschland und ganz Europa eingesetzt. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Trebuchet MS","sans-serif";color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Trebuchet MS","sans-serif";color:black'>Die Anforderungen an die Erfassung und das Management von Metadaten wie auch die verfügbaren Technologien entwickeln sich mit einer hohen Dynamik weiter. Vor diesem Hintergrund haben con terra und 52°North beschlossen, ein Open Source Projekt zum Thema Metadaten-Management ins Leben zu rufen. Ziel dieses Projektes ist die Erprobung neuer Technologien und die Entwicklung von Werkzeugen für das Metadaten-Management, die auch die integrierte Nutzung mit bestehenden Systemen ermöglichen, z.B. mit dem ebenfalls als Open Source Software verfügbaren Esri Geoportal Server.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Trebuchet MS","sans-serif";color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Trebuchet MS","sans-serif";color:black'>Als einen ersten Beitrag hat con terra den smartEditor in das 52°North Open Source Projekt eingebracht. Die Software ist jetzt unter den Bedingungen der Apache 2.0 Lizenz (<a href="http://52north.org/communities/metadata-management-community">http://52north.org/communities/metadata-management-community</a>) erhältlich. Für Kunden des sdi.suite Produktes terraCatalog ergeben sich hieraus keine Änderungen.
