Liebe FOSSGIS-Community,

aus dem GeoForschungszentrum Potsdam erreicht mich die Anfrage, ob aus 
den Reihen der FOSSGIS-Community jemand einen Beitrag zum GIS-Day am 
19.11.2014 bringen möchte. Es geht um Einstieg in GIS, sozusagen 
niedrigschwellige Beiträge, was man mit GIS machen kann, sind erwünscht. 
Auch Workshops 2-3h sind denkbar.

19. NOVEMBER 2014 - VIERTER GFZ GIS DAY: ERSTER AUFRUF FR BEITRGE

  Am 19. November 2014 möchten wir wieder zum GFZ GIS Day auf den
Telegrafenberg einladen.
  Seit dem Jahr 1998 wird alljährlich der „GIS Day" als globaler Event
am dritten Mittwoch im November begangen. Dabei handelt es sich um eine
praxisorientierte Veranstaltung („Werkschau"), bei der Nutzer und
Entwickler von Geographischen Informationssystemen (GIS) Einblicke in
ihre Arbeit mit GIS geben.
  Es sind alle eingeladen, die sich in ihren jeweiligen Institutionen
(Unis, Ämter, Forschung) mit dem Thema GIS beschäftigen, ihre
aktuellen und/oder früheren Arbeiten vorzustellen oder einfach nur
dabei zu sein. Für das Programm sind kurze Präsentationen (ca. 15
Minuten) zu den vielfältigen Einsatzszenarien von GIS geplant. Es
können ebenso Poster und/oder Multimedia-Produktionen
(Animationen/Videos) vorgestellt werden. Die Beiträge können in
Deutsch oder Englisch verfasst sein. Verkehrssprache wird jedoch 
Deutsch
sein.
  Die Veranstaltung ist für die Teilnehmer kostenfrei und externe Gäste
sind ebenfalls herzlich eingeladen. Bitte leiten Sie diese E-Mail gerne
an ihre Kollegen, Freunde oder Interessierte weiter.

  NOVEMBER 19TH 2014 - 4TH GFZ GIS DAY: FIRST CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS

  To the 19th of November we invites to the next GFZ GIS Day at the
campus Telegrafenberg.
  Since 1998, the „GIS Day" is being celebrated as a global event
yearly on the third Wednesday in November. It is an special event 
driven
by hands-on presentations (work in progress and success stories) for
both, users and developers of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) to
present their work to users and the interested public.
  There are all invited that deal in their respective institutions
(universities, offices, research) with the subject of GIS, to present
their current and / or previous work or simply just to be there. Short
presentations (approximately 15 minutes) are scheduled at the various
application scenarios of GIS for the program. It can be presented as
posters and / or multimedia productions (animations / videos). The
contributions can be given in German or English. Lingua franca, 
however,
will be German.
  The event is freeof costs for participants and external guests are 
also
welcome to attend. Please forward this e-mail also to their colleagues,
