[Maptime-Salzburg] 08th May - Mapathon

Our next Maptime event will be a humanitarian Mapathon where we will map 
remote areas from satellite imagery. The obtained data will help 
organizations like MSF <https://www.msf.org/> (doctors without borders) 
to better plan their operations. The video at the bottom explains it 
very well.

For the mapping no previous knowledge is required. We will give an 
introduction and will explain everything necessary. In order to make the 
common mapping even more fun, there will be free drinks, snacks 
(sponsored by Z_GIS <https://www.zgis.at>) and music.

Please bring:

  * a *laptop* + charging cable
  * a mouse (makes mapping much easier)
  * create an OpenStreetMap account
    <https://www.openstreetmap.org/user/new>, if you don’t have one yet

If you do not have a laptop, you are of course welcome as well. Please 
let us know

Die nächste Maptime-Veranstaltung wird in Form eines humanitären 
Mapathons stattfinden. Wir werden gemeinsam anhand von Satellitenbildern 
Geodaten wie Häuser oder Strassen digitalisieren und bei OpenStreetMap 
<http://maptime.io/salzburg/www.openstreetmap.org> hochladen. Diese 
Daten werden dann von Organisationen wie Ärzte ohne Grenzen 
<https://www.aerzte-ohne-grenzen.at/> genutzt um deren Einsätze besser 
zu planen. Das Video unten gibt einen guten Überblick dazu.

Für das Digitalisieren ist *kein* Vorwissen notwendig. Wir werden eine 
Einführung geben und alles Relevante erklären. Es gibt freie Getränke, 
Snacks (gesponsert vom Z_GIS <https://www.zgis.at>) und Musik.

Bitte mitbringen:

  * *Laptop* mit Ladekabel
  * Maus (erleichtert das Digitalisieren sehr)
  * einen OpenStreetMap account
    <https://www.openstreetmap.org/user/new>, falls noch nicht vorhanden

Wer keinen Laptop zu Verfügung hat kann sich gerne bei uns melden
